Air-head? Who, me?!

21 06 2007

Not really an airhead, but I’m so forgetful at the moment, I have to write lists to remind me to look at the lists I’ve already written – if that makes sense! I suppose you could put it down to multi-tasking or been manically busy – dunno! I just know that I sleep very deeply at night and don’t like getting up in the mornings…

I was on Aunty’s the other night, posting a pic of the Reels on Wheels cap and asking the girls what they thought and I mentioned that I’d be happy to send out some leaflets if they had a local tackle shop that might be prepared to take them, or friends who were anglers, etc. Well,  Nutty Norn popped in and is busy making more cards to sell, has told her Crafty Crewe ladies and they’re going to muck in too and they wanted some leaflets aswell. Aren’t they fab?!

Same goes for Jan, Jo and Sally (and Crissi, too), who will all be getting them in the post tomorrow or next week at the latest! Aunty Sally’s running a Topper Competition on the Forum too, and all toppers entered will be made into cards for the Buddy bus to sell – fantastic, isn’t it? I have a majorly super cyber-family over there, I can tell you! :)

There is so much warmth and support there for every member who joins and joins in with us, it’s THE place be online! love it, love it, love it!!!!

Right, I’m off to make myself a nice hot, spicy curry (from scratch) and then DD will be walking through the door any minute. I think I’ve earned a little “me” time later, so I shall be sneaking upstairs to put together a couple of crafty things I have on the go!

Catch y’all later! ;)

Time just flies, doesn’t it?

16 06 2007

Where do the days and weeks go? I have no idea. I seem to spend my life running about like some sort of headless chicken, answering the phone to anglers from all parts of the UK!! The only bit of light relief I get is when I talk to Karen from Norfolk – we’re both blonde and on the same wavelength, thank heavens!

I managed to finish an altered art project for someone very special today. But no photos just yet. I also managed to make a batch of 9 keyrings for Reels on Wheels too! They’re fairly simple, but pretty, I think. I’ve used different coloured papers for the fish image so they’ll work for male/female and they’ve even got their own little ziplock baggies.

Here are some examples:

Let’s hope they sell! ;)

D is for…

6 06 2007

Disabled my $%#*… according to Jo’s plaque!! :D

bbplaque.jpg

Great image isn’t it? LOL. Thanks Jo – it’s going to hang at eye level opposite the door to the Buddy Bus so that it’s the first thing anyone sees as they climb in! It’ll give them a pretty accurate idea of who Nick is – I just hope they realise he doesn’t look at all like that!

Dominoes::  I received not one, but three gorgeous dominoes from my swap partner Jaine today. She decided to make a ‘Family Set’ and made three beautiful monogrammed dominoes for Rosie, Nick and Amber. Look at these:

Stunning, aren’t they? Thank you so much Jaine – they will be treasured. :)

Webs and networking…

1 06 2007

I made this one this evening for a certain pair of kindly ladies (well, mother and daughter actually!) to thank them for the pressies they sent me… I just hope neither of them has arachnophobia!!

webby-spider.jpg

I wrote on Nick’s blog about all the happenings today and I’m exhausted. I still have a birthday card to make and some fishy ones to put together. Jane from Auntys Forum has inspired me with those – so, no worries!

I also have a million and one thoughts chasing their way up and down my neural paths thanks to Mark and Peter, but that’s a good thing. I don’t think my brain has been this active for quite some time – mind you, I haven’t been so tired, either!

I’ll get a good night’s sleep and be back to myself tomorrow (maybe!!) ;)

More cards!

14 05 2007

Aren’t the Auntys Forum ladies just amazing? They’ve been beavering away making Nick more cards to sell and these three are a great example of the diversity of their styles: Left is Tracey’s card, centre is one of the three sent by Jo and on the right is Julie’s card. They’re really fab and we thank you girls!

Now this next one is very special – LMAO @ Jo’s very un-PC card… it’s wonderful and I’m afraid it won’t be for sale, as Nick is keeping it for himself (just to remind him what he looks like on the bank!!)  BTW Jo, I sold your “Wanna be my Buddy?” card yesterday at the Booty. My mate absolutely loved it – and your sense of fun!

And here’s a pic of the wonderful Sheila, who towered over me (I’m only 5’2″!!), but is so lovely!! (Thanks for giving your consent to me posting this one, Sheila!) :D

Isn’t she grand?! Hugggggggssssssssss Sheila – we’ll see you in October mate.  :)

What a fab day!

12 05 2007

I took DD with me today to Totnes (about 60 miles from home!) in the driving rain, across the outer edge of Dartmoor, to see Sheila Oliver (Manic Stamper) at the Finishing Touches Craft shop! It was wonderful. Ali and Tracey – Auntys Forum buddies – also came along and we had a blast! Hugs all round, lovely demos from Sheila of some of her fave background techniques (she even let me bring one home, ‘cos I was cheeky enough to ask!) and I got myself a StazOn pad for her Floorwax technique. ;)

Nick phoned and told me the good news… he’s been invited to go to Pembrokeshire and fish at former World Champion Ian Heaps’ fishery and the man has offered him his whole-hearted support! Fantastic!

And, the icing on the cake – the “Reels on Wheels” bank account is up and running, ready for donations/funding. Now that’s very good news – all done properly with a big cheque book saying Reels on Wheels and some great pointers from the lady at Lloyds TSB who set it up for us!

Here’s a pic of me with my friends from Auntys…  Me, Ali and Tracey, all grinning manically! We look like grinning devils with those red eyes – hehehe! :D

Waving the hanky!

9 05 2007

I wasn’t this morning! It was a yucky, cold misty morning, drizzling down on us as we finished loading the Buddy Bus and set off to Bude. We stopped off to see Stewart at The Water Front tackle shop, where I picked out some more rubbery lures for cards/scrapping and Nick took possession of a brand new stainless steel pod. It must be a good ‘un because it weighed a ton and Nick reported that a degree in Science was necessary to set it up!! :D

He drove off to White Acres at about 9.50 am and then phoned me to say that BBC Radio Cornwall had called to ask him to do a LIVE radio interview at 2pm. How cool! I went to post that on the Angling Forums he posts on, then I went o the BBC website and had to download Real Player to listen to the radio broadcast live… but it was worth it – and maybe I’m not so blonde after all?! ;)

I received some lovely post this morning: One of the ladies on Auntys forum made me some stamps with the Fisherman’s Prayer and other phrases on and she’s donated them to us for Reels on Wheels! (Thanks Kim!). I also received 2 lovely fishing cards for Nick to sell for fund-raising… thanks so much, girls – it’s lovely to have support from ladies I’ve been talking to for the last 12 months, but whom I’ve never met. They’re my cyberbuds and I genuinely consider them to be my extended family. Love you all… :)

Aren’t they just fab! xoxoxo :D
